The 'dirty sixties' : Black and white yearly varves from the euthrophicated lake 'sampled' by one of our anchors
Dark-grey/white lamination just after opening the core. Brownish layer to the left is an high discharge event (flood layer).
After surface preparation and some exposure to air, the dark winter layers get yellow brownish. White layers are spring-summer precipitated calcite (MO05-1 A, ca. 70 cm composite depth).
Clastic varves from about 11 m composite depth.
